U.S. pharmaceutical company Moderna plans to apply for approval of its Corona vaccine in the EU for children and adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 in early June.
Ideally, this age group should be vaccinated before the end of August, Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel told the French Sunday newspaper Journal du dimanche. Otherwise, a fourth Corona wave could loom.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is already considering approval of Biontech/Pfizer’s Corona vaccine for 12- to 15-year-olds. In the USA, the vaccine is already approved for this age group.
