Corona new infections and seven-day incidence remain at a low level in Austria. In the past 24 hours, according to the figures from the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Health (as of Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.), a further 117 infections with the coronavirus were registered. The figure was well below the average of 218 over the past seven days, with a seven-day incidence of 17.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.
However, a relatively large number of deaths related to covid-19 disease were detected again on Tuesday. According to the report, six people died of or with Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, compared to a seven-day average of three Corona deaths per day. Since the start of the pandemic, 10,668 people have died from or with Covid-19, or a statistical 119.9 deaths per 100,000 population.
The number of active SARS-CoV-2 cases decreased by 205 cases from Monday to 3,742. 316 patients were reported recovered over the past day, for a total of 634,439 people registered as recovered in Austria since the outbreak of the pandemic.
305 patients were hospitalized with Covid 19 disease on Tuesday, down by two from Monday. Of them, 97 were in intensive care, also two fewer than the previous day and 34 fewer in a week.
In the past 24 hours, 527,562 PCR and rapid antigen tests were added. Of those, 81,027 were conclusive PCR tests, of which 0.1 percent were positive. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 61,080,190 tests have been performed in Austria.
