From Thursday to Friday, there were 94 new Corona infections in Austria. This means that the numbers are once again below 100, which is the fourth time this week that there were fewer than 100. In addition, fewer than 200 patients had to be treated in hospitals on Friday for the first time in months. Exactly 197 Covid 19 infected persons were in hospitals.
Three deaths
Since the start of the pandemic, there have already been more than 650,000 positive test results in Austria – exactly 650,016 people were thus already infected with SARS-CoV-2. A total of 637,051 people are considered recovered. Three more deaths have been reported since Thursday, with a total of 23 deaths in the past week. In total, the Covid-19 pandemic has claimed 10,700 lives in Austria since the outbreak. Per 100,000 population, 120.2 people have died as a result of infection.
30.9 percent fully immunized
As of Thursday, exactly 100,277 vaccinations had been administered. In total, 4,587,800 have already received at least a partial vaccination, according to the E-vaccination passport data: That’s 51.5 percent of the population. 2,746,734, or 30.9 percent of Austrians, have already been fully immunized.
The highest initial vaccination rate is in Lower Austria, with 56.9 percent. In Burgenland, 56.1 percent of the population has been vaccinated at least once, and in Tyrol 51.7 percent. After Vorarlberg (51.2), Styria (51), Carinthia (50.6), Salzburg (50.3) and Upper Austria (48.3), Vienna brings up the rear with a vaccination coverage rate of 47 percent.
