Starting Sunday, August 15, 2021, the rules of the game surrounding the Green Passport in Austria will change once again.
This time, the validity of the Corona vaccination will be affected. According to the authorities, this time all Austrians who have only received one vaccine from Biontech/Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca will be affected.
Validity
In the future, a partial vaccination will no longer be sufficient for the Green Passport, and access to restaurants and events will only be granted after a completed vaccination series. In other words, only after the second sting.
The vaccine from Janssen or Johnson&Johnson is different. Because only one dose is administered here, the vaccination certificate is valid from the 22nd day after the vaccination date. On the other hand, for convalescents with a partial vaccination, the vaccination certificate is valid from the vaccination date.
Expiration date
In general, however, vaccination certificates have an expiration date for all. “From today’s point of view, the validity of a completed vaccination series with a vaccine approved by the EMA is 270 days from the 2nd partial vaccination,” informs the Ministry of Social Affairs.
