So far 29,561 people have fallen ill, 746 have died and 25,300 have recovered. 163 hospitalized, 29 of them intensively.
7 September 2020 – Vienna. After the number of new corona infections had fallen yesterday, they rose again today. On Sunday “only” 184 new cases were reported – on Monday there were 290 in only 24 hours. Thus, the numbers almost reach 300 again, as they did in the middle to end of last week. So far there have been 29,561 positive test results in Austria.
As of today, 9.30 a.m., 746 people throughout Austria have died as a result of the corona virus. The increase of ten compared to Sunday is due to a data cleansing of the Viennese cases since the end of March and was carried out on the basis of a recommendation of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES): Accordingly, those deaths in the Covid-19 statistics must also be listed that have tested positive for infection within a certain period of time before the time of death.
The new infections since the last notification are divided among the provinces of Austria as follows:
Burgenland: 11
Carinthia: 4
Lower Austria: 56
Upper Austria: 33
Salzburg: 25
Styria: 32
Tyrol: 31
Vorarlberg: 23
Vienna: 75
At present, 163 people are undergoing hospital treatment for the corona virus – 20 more than on Sunday – 29 of them in intensive care, which means that one more person has been added to the list within the past 24 hours.
