Vienna Airport in Schwechat is expanding its CoV test offering. In addition to PCR tests, rapid antigen tests are now also offered. The medical certificate of the antigen rapid test already leads to entry facilitations in some countries.
At the airport’s Health Center, it has already been possible since the beginning of May to take a molecular biological Covid-19 test (so-called PCR test). With immediate effect, interested parties can now also have rapid antigen tests performed. Such a test quickly provides information about an existing Covid 19 infection, and the medical certificate already leads to entry facilitations in some countries. According to a press release from the airport, the test is available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to anyone interested.
Rapid antigen test costs 35 euros per person
The rapid antigen test can be done at any time during opening hours without prior appointment. “The months of experience in handling Covid 19 testing offers here not only security in the execution, but also an optimized process with no or only minimal waiting times on site,” says the airport. Within a few minutes the test person is registered and the smear is taken, after a short time the medical report (in German and English) is sent to the test person via encrypted e-mail. The rapid test costs 35 euros per person.
Not only travelers can be tested, but also companies can have their employees tested with antigen rapid tests. “For private individuals, the service is particularly attractive in view of the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.”
Vienna Airport is already successfully using rapid antigen tests in a pilot project with Austrian Airlines in the course of selected Vienna-Hamburg flights. These rapid tests are also offered as a service for events and conferences in the Airport City.
