In Germany, 16,643 more people tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). This is a decrease from the previous day’s 22,771 new cases. This brings the total number to 1,510,652 positive tests.
Another 226 people died from or with the virus. The previous day, there were 409 Corona deaths. A total of 26,275 deaths have now been recorded. The figures are usually lower on Sunday, as not all data are transmitted to the RKI. The so-called seven-day incidence rises to 197.1 from 192.2 the day before. The federal and state governments are aiming for a target of 50. The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants tested positive within seven days.
India reports over 24,300 new infections
In India, the Ministry of Health recorded 24,337 new infections within 24 hours. This brings the total number of detected cases to about 10.06 million. The number of deaths related to the virus increases by 333 to 145,810. India is one of the countries worldwide with the most registered cases of infection.
