Slightly relaxed CoV rules apply today and tomorrow (December 24 and 25). On these two days, nighttime curfew restrictions are completely lifted. Contact restrictions will also be significantly relaxed, with a maximum of ten people from up to ten different households allowed to meet.
The rule of one meter distance is lifted, the mask obligation with meetings inside off the own private living range does not apply likewise. This also applies to barns, garden sheds and garages, which (like gardens) may exceptionally be used for meetings of more than two households on these two days.
Christmas regulation for visits to homes
On the two exceptional days, residents of nursing and old people’s homes may also be visited twice by two people from a common household – in addition to the one visit per week that is always allowed. In this way, the government wants to prevent nursing home residents from being picked up by relatives for Christmas parties. The justification states that the risk of infection would be higher.
Afterwards hard Lockdown
From Saturday the third hard Lockdown applies. Stores will be closed, as will restaurants, cultural institutions and many leisure facilities. There are then also again around the clock curfew restrictions. People will then only be allowed to leave their own private living quarters during the day for certain reasons.
No New Year’s Eve exception
As of Saturday, a household may only receive a maximum of one individual from another household. This rule – as well as the all-day curfew – also applies to New Year’s Eve. The use of pyrotechnic articles of category F2, including rockets, firecrackers or flash bangers in the local area, is generally prohibited. However, mayors can decree exceptions.
