Corona numbers continue to rise rapidly after soft opening steps. On Friday, 1,731 new infections were reported. There were 32 deaths.
Corona numbers in Austria remain at a high level. On Wednesday, there were 1,469 new infections, on Thursday, 1,577 new cases were reported Austria-wide and on Friday, 1,731 additional positive results were received by the authorities – an increase of almost 10 percent within 24 hours!
The positive findings are distributed among the nine federal states as follows:
➤ Burgenland: 33
➤ Carinthia: 127
➤ Lower Austria: 319
➤ Upper Austria: 240
Salzburg: 111
➤ Styria: 231
➤ Tyrol: 105
➤ Vorarlberg: 38
➤ Vienna: 527
As of today (February 12, 2021, 9:30 a.m.), 430,870 people have contracted Covid-19 throughout the country to date, according to the Ministry of the Interior. 8,170 people have died as a result of the infection and 408,426 have recovered. Currently, 1,169 people are undergoing hospital treatment due to the Corona virus, and of those, 262 of the ill are in intensive care units – that’s three fewer than on Thursday.
