The Chamber of Pharmacists reports that the supply of free antigen tests is stalling. Some new supplies will not be available until next week.
“Due to delivery problems with the free living room tests, larger contingents of the tests will only arrive in pharmacies in the course of the coming week,” writes the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists in a press release.
The reason is logistical delays on the world market and lengthy customs clearances. As a result, there are currently delays in subsequent deliveries of the tests to the 1,400 Austrian pharmacies.
“Pharmacists are waiting, as is the population. We hope that the situation will relax in the course of the week, so that the extremely successful free distribution of the tests can continue without problems,” says the Presidium of the Pharmacists’ Association.
Three million individual tests were delivered to pharmacies in Austria this week. Only a few pharmacies still had Corona antigen tests available for free distribution on Friday.
