Prince William has spoken out for the first time about Meghan’s accusations of racism. He defends the British royal family.

The heir to the British throne, Prince William (38), has vehemently denied the accusations made by his sister-in-law Duchess Meghan (39) in the revelation interview last weekend. “We are not a racist family,” he stressed emphatically on Thursday while visiting a London school when asked by reporters. He has not yet spoken with his brother Prince Harry (36) about the Sussex talk, but will do so, he assures.

Duchess Meghan had told during her almost two-hour conversation with Oprah Winfrey (67) of a lack of support on the part of the palace, while she and her husband were still part of the royal family. In addition it had given still before birth of their son Archie (1) of a high-ranking family member disconcerting remarks over its possible skin color. Who made this remark, however, Meghan and Harry have not revealed.

Meanwhile, the head of the family Queen Elizabeth II (94) has also given a statement on the interview. In a terse message from Buckingham Palace, it was said on Tuesday that they would like to clarify these allegations of racism “privately” and take the accusations very seriously. The queen concluded by saying that Meghan, Harry and Archie will always be part of the royal family.
