The Ministry of Health is currently working on legal foundations that would give vaccinated people “certain advantages” in the Corona lockdown.
“We are currently working on the fact that as a vaccinated person you can also have certain advantages in these first steps with the first groups. That means that certain lockdown measures or similar closures do not have to apply to all groups at the same time,” Health Minister Rudolf Anschober let the bombshell burst in the Puls24 “Citizens’ Forum”.
In Israel, people who have already been immunized with a Corona vaccine enjoy certain advantages. Corona-vaccinated and -recovered people with a “green passport”, for example, are given back more basic rights more quickly there. Currently, Austria is also considering this.
Already now, if you are tested, you have easier access in some areas – keyword: access tests. As reported, 2 out of 3 Austrians find these very tests useful in the event of further opening steps – “this will be expanded even further,” Anschober announces.
Similar to the “Green Passport,” in this country the e-card or a kind of app are to indicate whether one has either been vaccinated against the corona virus, a corona infection was not long ago, or one has been freshly tested. “Of course, also in paper form, for people who can’t handle an app that way,” the 60-year-old explains.
If the legal basis is first waved through in the Health Committee next Thursday, and later in the Bundesrat, “we could go into the first operational implementations as early as April,” says Anschober.
