Austria ends the lockdown on 19 May. When this takes effect what are the rules for the Corona vaccinated, tested and recovered from the infection.
For gastronomy, events and body-related service providers, test certificates will be needed as access tests, according to the Ministry of Health. These access tests are to offer after the Vorarlberger model these possibilities: Either have a self-test with digital evidence valid for a maximum of 24 hours, an antigen test valid for 48 hours or a PCR test valid for a maximum of 72 hours.
Individuals who have been infected with Corona are exempt from testing for six months from the time of recovery, they say. For this purpose, an appropriate document must be presented. Once the appropriate legal basis is created, “vaccinated people will also be exempt from compulsory testing,” it said. This will apply for one year from day 22 after the initial vaccination,” the Ministry of Health said.
Controlled are the corresponding test and immunity proofs by the operators of the respective service provider, restaurant and Co. Who is found for example without negative Corona test or appropriate proof in a restaurant, can be punished with up to 1,450 euro fine – enterprises can be punished in these cases besides with up to 30,000 euro fine or six weeks imprisonment.
The National Council is already meeting on May 3 for a new special session, in which the governing parties ÖVP and Greens want to get the “Green Passport” and the aforementioned proof rules on track. The meeting will start at 1 p.m. and the new rules are expected to be approved quickly.
