In Lower Austria, registration for Corona vaccination opened Monday for people age 50 and older.

Almost 60,000 pairs of appointments were allocated within the first two hours alone, LHStv. Stephan Pernkopf (ÖVP) announced in a statement. Further age groups will have their turn from Wednesday onwards, until next Monday the time slots will finally be available for all Lower Austrians aged 16 and over.

Strongest phase: 1,600 bookings per minute
According to Notruf NÖ, the strongest phase was recorded at exactly 10:33 a.m. with 1,600 bookings per minute. 50,000 of the appointments were gone within an hour. It was emphasized that with a total of 326,000 available places, there was sufficient time. The booking option remains “of course always open” in the coming days, he said.

“It is a good day for Lower Austria,” found health regional councilor Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig (SPÖ). On the one hand, relaxations had become possible, “on the other hand, we have been able to take another important step in our vaccination strategy.” At the same time, she appealed to the respective beneficiaries to book an appointment for immunization in the next few days.
