CoV testing will remain free for at least a few more months. “Testing will remain free over the summer at any rate,” said Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) yesterday evening in the ORF discussion program “Im Zentrum”.
With the timetable announced by the government, until the end of June to enable all those willing to vaccinate the first dose, Mückstein remains despite doubts of individual provinces: “This results from the vaccine doses delivered to Austria.”
For air filters in school buildings
However, it will not be possible to vaccinate the 12- to 15-year-olds most recently added to the “vaccinable population” until July and August, Mückstein said. He made a strong case for doing so. The health minister would also be in favor of equipping schools with air filters, saying, “I’m in favor of that, it’s a good idea.”
Virologist Dorothee Von Laer expects the corona virus to remain persistent and, like influenza, cause severe respiratory illness annually.
