This is why there are currently no new vaccination dates in Vienna
Since last Wednesday, there are no appointments for the first vaccination in Vienna. The reason:A delivery failure of almost 52,000 Pfizer doses.
Pfizer’s delivery failure is upsetting Vienna’s vaccination schedule. Appointments for first-time vaccinations cannot be booked since last Wednesday. Only operational vaccinations continue to take place. Here, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson is now being used.
Until the middle of the week, there will probably be no new appointments, explains a spokesman for Health Councillor Peter Hacker to the “Kronen Zeitung”. However, the second vaccinations with Biontech/Pfizer are not at risk. The vaccination program for companies also remains in place.
For young people, this news comes at a stupid time. For that group, aged twelve to 16, only the Biontech/Pfizer vaccine is approved.
Forty percent of the Viennese (750,000 people) have already received the initial shot. Currently, high-risk patients, businesses and the 55+ group are in line. High school and college students still have to wait. According to the plan, it would be the turn of the over-20s from the end of July or the beginning of August.
