The Johnson & Johnson Corona vaccine is said to be particularly effective against delta variant. That’s what a study shows.

USA – Johnson & Johnson’s Corona vaccine appears to be very effective against the fast-spreading delta variant of the coronavirus. The company shared corresponding data in a statement Friday (02/07/2021). It is said to have 85 percent efficacy and to be effective for at least eight months, according to the U.S. company. This corresponds to the period in which the study was conducted. Vaccine researchers examined blood samples from participants in a Phase III clinical trial, called “Ensemble,” in an analysis.

The study, which has yet to be peer-reviewed by independent experts, was published on the preprint server “bioRxiv,” according to the company. It shows that Johnson & Johnson’s single vaccine dose is 85 percent effective against a severe Covid 19 course. Meaning: even with the delta variant, a high level of protection against hospitalization and a fatal course is guaranteed.

Corona vaccine Johnson & Johnson not the only vaccine with high efficacy
However, there is a small drop of bitterness. This is because when the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was approved, its efficacy was apparently still 100 percent. However, that was before the delta variant was circulated. At 85 percent, adequate immune protection is still guaranteed.

However, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is not the only vaccine with high efficacy against the delta variant of the coronavirus. According to a study by Public Health England (PHE), a complete Biontech vaccination is just as effective in preventing severe disease progression with the delta variant as with the alpha variant. According to the study, two doses of the active ingredient prevented hospitalization in 96 percent of cases with variant B.1.617.2.

Moderna and Astrazeneca are effective against delta variant of the coronavirus
And Moderna is apparently no less effective. Data recently published by the U.S. pharmaceutical company Moderna indicate that after two vaccinations, the vaccine protects almost as well against the delta variant as it does against the virus of origin. According to the German Press Agency, the vaccine also stimulates an immune response against the mutation.

According to PHE researchers, the efficacy against the delta variant is about 60 percent when fully vaccinated with Astrazeneca’s vaccine, and in 92 percent of cases severe courses of the disease can be prevented with hospitalization.
