The coronavirus continues to spread in Austria. Thus, there have already been over 400 cases in the last 24 hours.
192 new cases on Monday, 218 on Tuesday, 332 on Wednesday, 306 on Thursday and 341 on yesterday, Friday – the number of new infections in Austria has recently risen again significantly, in the past three days the value was even always above the 300 mark.
And also on the weekend, the Corona situation in the country remains tense. As “Heute” learned on Saturday, a total of 411 new infections were again recorded in 24 hours throughout Austria. For comparison: a week ago – on July 7 – there had been 133 cases.

To date, there have been 653,412 positive test results in Austria. As of July 17 (10:00 a.m.), 10,728 people have died and 639,422 have recovered from the effects of Corona virus throughout Austria. Currently, 114 people are in hospital care due to the Corona virus. Of these, 36 are being cared for in intensive care units.
The Ministry of Health’s dashboard is operated by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and can be accessed at “covid19-dashboard.ages.at.” The dashboard obtains its data exclusively from the Epidemiological Reporting Register (EMS) and is updated daily, 2 pm. The EMS is the official register in which data is entered by the district authorities as well as by laboratories.
The Federal Ministry of the Interior collects the figures as part of the coordination of State Crisis and Disaster Management at the Operations and Coordination Center (EKC) via videoconference. These figures may include cases not yet recorded in the EMS.
