Yesterday, the highest number of infections within 24 hours since April 10, 2021, was reported, with 2,693 new infections registered. From Wednesday to Thursday, 1,965 new Corona infections were registered in Austria.
There are also 11 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,072 so far. The number of active cases is up 385 to 20,570, with a seven-day incidence of 142.70.
There are currently 851 people in Austria’s hospitals related to covid disease, down three from the previous day. 225 patients are in intensive care – two more than the day before.
In the past 24 hours, 181,134 PCR tests have been performed, with a positive rate of 1.08 percent.
Around 79,000 booster vaccinations
Third-stage vaccinations against coronavirus have been administered in Austria since early September. Since then, around 79,000 so-called booster vaccinations have been carried out across Austria, Der Standard reported Thursday. The Health Ministry did not provide exact figures in response to an APA query, but “the order of magnitude is correct,” a spokesman said.
