Twelve new deaths linked to Covid 19 infection have been reported. Currently, 292 people are being cared for in intensive care.
On All Saints’ Day, new Corona infections in Austria remain high, but at least after three days they no longer exceed the 5,000 mark. From Sunday to Monday, 4,523 new Corona infections were recorded.
As is usually the case on a Monday, this is below the average of the past seven days, currently 4,864, but well above the 2,850 cases recorded last Monday.
This brings the total number of active cases to 47,068, and the seven-day incidence per 100,000 population across Austria is now 382.52. Within a week, more than 34,000 SARS-CoV-2 infections have been added in Austria.
There are also 12 new deaths related to Covid-19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,369 so far. In the past seven days, 108 deaths have been registered.
292 people in intensive care
There were 1,458 people in hospital, 14 more than the previous day. 292 people are receiving intensive care, an increase of 12 patients and 60 within a week.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 835,504 confirmed infections. Recovered so far officially 777,067 people, within the past 24 hours 2,751 were considered recovered.
A total of 299,357 PCR and rapid antigen tests were reported in the past 24 hours. Of these, 93,277 were meaningful PCR tests, with a positive rate of 4.8 percent. This 24-hour figure is above last week’s average of 3.8 percent.
