The corona situation in Europe is coming to a head: in several countries, the number of new daily infections has multiplied in the last four weeks.
Austria is not the only country where the number of new covid infections is skyrocketing: A month ago, 2,693 people became infected within one day; on Thursday, 8,593 cases were already reported – 219 percent more. The situation is similarly dramatic in our neighboring countries: The 28 days from Oct. 6 to Nov. 3 saw a 196 percent increase in infections in Germany, 184 percent more in Slovenia and plus 172 percent in Slovakia. The Czech Republic is currently setting a negative record with plus 798 percent, while Hungary is also up by a high 312 percent.
In France and Spain, on the other hand, the figures remained very stable, while other European countries recorded slight increases. But the figures are also exploding in Poland (+400 percent), the Netherlands (+362 percent) and Denmark (+258 percent).
