The 76,414 new infections reported by the RKI again represent a record high.
There is no end to the negative records: with 76,414 new infections and a seven-day incidence of 438.2, the RKI again reports record highs. The incidence has been rising steadily for three weeks, and the number of deaths has exceeded 300 for the fourth day in a row.
The number of new Corona infections reported to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day has again reached an all-time high. Health offices reported 76,414 cases in 24 hours, according to RKI data as of Friday morning. Exactly one week ago, there had been 52,970 recorded new infections.
The RKI gave the seven-day incidence at 438.2 – also a high. For comparison: The previous day the value had been 419.7, a week ago 340.7 (previous month: 113.0). According to the new data, 357 deaths were recorded throughout Germany within 24 hours. A week ago, there were 201 deaths. The RKI counted 5,650,170 confirmed infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the start of the pandemic, but the actual total is likely to be much higher because many infections go undetected.
The number of Corona patients admitted to hospitals per 100,000 population over a seven-day period was reported Thursday by the RKI as 5.79, up from 5.74 on Wednesday. The value plays a significant role in assessing the incidence of infection. If the threshold values 3, 6 and 9 are exceeded in the federal states, stricter measures to combat the pandemic can be imposed there in each case. The RKI gave the number of those who have recovered on Friday as 4,775,300. The number of people who died from or with the involvement of a confirmed infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 100,476.
