From Monday to Tuesday, there were 8,186 new infections in Austria. Today’s new infections are below the average of 11,438 over the past seven days. In addition, the number of active cases drops to 139,594.
There are also 67 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 12,492 lives in Austria so far. In the past 24 hours, 394,234 new PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 2.08 percent.
There is still no relief in the hospitals. In intensive care units, 642 patients are currently being treated with an increase of 23 patients. In normal wards, there are 3,246 patients with an increase of 133 patients.
