The Austrian Post has announced its recommended posting times for Christmas: For the Eco letter it is Dec. 20, the parcel must be posted on the 21st, the Prio letter on the 22nd and Post-Express must be delivered no later than the 23rd. This is for domestic mail, to bordering countries it looks like this: Eco-Brief by the 10th, Paket by the 16th, Prio-Brief by the 17th and Post Express by the 20th of December.
Austrian Post expects – as last year – up to one million or more parcels per day. Whereby there may be restrictions due to the Corona pandemic. It reminds customers to plan for any delays in customs clearance when sending parcels abroad.
All postal branches nationwide will be open at least from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 24 – selected branches located in shopping malls, for example, may be open even longer, the part-state postal service told APA. Postal delivery staff will still be on duty on Saturday, Dec. 18, as well as Friday, Dec. 24.
