In Bavaria and other German states with a low vaccination rate, considerably more people are currently dying after a corona infection than in the better-vaccinated north of Germany. This is the result of statistical analyses by the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. The basis is the official data of the Robert Koch Institute and the health authorities. According to the data, more than three times as many Corona patients died in Bavaria in relation to the population in seven days (as of Dec. 1) as in Bremen, the state with the highest vaccination rate. Thus there were 3.9 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants in the Free State, in Bremen 1.18.

Thüringen (7.88) and Sachsen (6.75) have the most deaths in relation to the population, Bavaria followed on Wednesday in third place. The ratios differ somewhat from day to day. Bavaria has reported 512 Corona deaths in seven days, more than any other state in absolute numbers. In contrast, the number of Corona deaths is below average in Hamburg or Niedersachsen, where very many people are vaccinated against Corona. Nationwide, Schleswig-Holstein is the best performer with only 0.82 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants.
