Austria is once again making its Corona rules stricter. The closing time in restaurants will be brought forward to 10 p.m. starting Dec. 27.

The maximum number of participants at events will be limited to 2,000, and that too with conditions. From variant states like Great Britain one can enter only with third sting without quarantine.

Bringing forward of gastro curfew also on New Year’s Eve
For the first time, these measures were no longer announced by the government, which met together with the provincial governors, but by the Director General for Public Health, Katharina Reich, who heads the new advisory body Gecko. As she pointed out during a press statement, the group’s proposals were unanimously approved by the federal and state governments.

New Corona measures announced
In the future, only 25 people will be able to attend meetings without assigned seating. With assigned seating, 500 people can gather if 2G applies, 1,000 if 2G plus test, and 2,000 if third prong plus test. Mask is mandatory for this purpose.

Several states will be declared virus variant areas
On entry, there is some accommodation for tourism. Great Britain, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands will be declared virus variant areas as of December 25, which would mean mandatory quarantine. However, triple vaccinated persons with a valid PCR test are exempted from this.
