RKI reports 34,145 new infections in Germany, incidence at 528.2

Germany’s Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has again reported an increase in seven-day incidence nationwide, setting a new record. The RKI gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Monday morning as 528.2. For comparison, the previous day the value had been 515.7, and a week ago 375.7 (previous month: 413.7). Health offices in Germany reported 34,145 new Corona infections to the RKI within one day. The key points on compulsory vaccination

The federal government on Sunday presented the final draft of the general vaccination obligation planned to take effect in February 2022. Compulsory vaccination is to apply to all persons residing in Austria aged 18 or older. Sunday record: 15,419 new infections in Austria

On Sunday, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior reported 15,419 new cases within 24 hours. This is the highest ever reported on a Sunday by the authorities since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Covax vaccine program cracks billion-dose mark

The Covax international vaccine program hit the billion-dose mark in CoV vaccine deliveries Saturday. The milestone was announced by Gavi, the vaccination alliance of governments, companies, foundations and UN agencies that runs the Covax program. The one billionth dose was in a shipment that arrived in Rwanda yesterday, according to Gavi. Covax now supplied 144 countries.
