From yesterday to today, 38,060 new infections related to Covid-19 were registered in Austria.
38,060 Corona infections were reported in Austria by the health and interior ministries on Sunday, a week after the “opening,” with most measures essentially removed except in Vienna. In addition, active 384,363 cases were reported, 11,049 more than the day before.
So far, there have been 3,153,927 positive test results in Austria. As of today (13 March, 9:30 am), 15,207 people have died, and 2,754,357 have recovered from the effects of the Coronavirus across Austria. In the past 24 hours, 27 deaths have been reported.
There are currently 2,797 people receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, 187 of whom are in intensive care units, six more than on Saturday but four fewer than a week ago.
A total of 367,022 PCR and rapid antigen tests were reported in the past 24 hours, most of which were more informative PCR tests at 344,040. The positive rate was 11.1 percent.
2,840 vaccinations were administered on Saturday. In total, 6,808,151 people have already received at least one vaccination, according to the E-vaccine passport data. 6,236,958 people, or 69.5 percent of Austrians, have proper vaccination protection. This value decreased by 0.4 percent compared to last Sunday.
The 7-day incidence rose to 3186.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, up from 2,331.1 a week ago.
The province with the highest 7-day incidence is currently Styria with 3,683.7, followed by Vorarlberg, Lower Austria, and Upper Austria (3,631.2, 3627.7, and 3,335.3 respectively). Salzburg (3,220), Burgenland (2,850.6), Tyrol (2,768.3), Carinthia (2,671) and Vienna (2,626.8) follow.
