Frosty nights are still expected in the coming weeks. That can even happen well into May; there’s a reason Mamertus, Pancras, Servatius, Boniface, and Sophie are called the Ice Saints from May 11 to 15.
It gets milder
However, there is no need to brood about the cold for the current week. Today, Tuesday, the weather situation is still unstable – although not as cold as last weekend. Daytime highs between 8 and 17 degrees are expected, but this is in the south. On Wednesday, it will then generally be 16 to 20 degrees warm. In the east, Vienna itself is even up to 21 degrees, and some sun.
Who can enjoy this, because “Mirella” and “Nasim” are already waiting? From Wednesday evening, these two lows rule the first two “of a series of lows that come in from the north on a continuous band.“ Weather experts in Austria predict that with the start of the Easter vacations and Palm Sunday for the coming weekend, nothing nice: “It goes down again with the temperatures.“
Also, precipitation announces itself, and as already on Saturday, snow could fall again also in lower altitudes. It is too early for forecasts for the vacation week or even Easter itself; only this much can be read from the longer-term weather models. It will be more spring-like.
