On Holy Saturday, below 10,000 new Corona infections were again reported in Austria. Specifically, there were 8,996 new infections with the coronavirus.
Eight thousand nine hundred ninety-six new infections with the coronavirus and 17 deaths from or with covid-19 have been registered in the past 24 hours. The number of infections is below the previous seven-day average of 9,866, according to Health and Interior Ministry figures (as of 9:30 a.m. Saturday). Meanwhile, the seven-day incidence declined and stood at 769 per 100,000 population on Saturday. The number of hospital patients with Covid-19 is also declining.

To date, there have been 4,045,809 positive test results in Austria. Today (April 16, 9:30 a.m.), 16,407 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died, and 3,890,719 have recovered across Austria. Currently, 1,994 persons infected with coronavirus are receiving hospital care. Of these, 160 are being cared for in intensive care units.
