Austria – Five thousand eight hundred ten people tested positive yesterday. Different rules apply to them, depending on their symptoms—an overview.

▶Ten days of isolation have been provided since March 25 only for patients with severe disease (requiring oxygen).

▶ In the case of mild disease progression or infection without symptoms, five days of isolation are generally provided. If one has been without symptoms for at least 48 hours on the fifth day, transport restriction follows until the tenth day. Restrictions familiar from lockdowns apply (e.g., necessary errands, medical appointments, assistance, outdoor recreation).

▶ If the patient is symptom-free for 48 hours, a PCR test can also be performed from day five at the earliest. If the test result is negative or has a CT score of 30 or greater, isolation can also be terminated without restriction.

▶ From day ten, the restriction is terminated; no free testing is necessary.

▶ Since a CT value of less than 30 can be measured for several weeks after recovery, no PCR test should generally be performed for 60 days. Exception: symptoms occur again.
