In the last 24 hours, there were 4,133 new infections with the coronavirus in Austria, with Vienna accounting for most of the cases. Four additional deaths were also reported on Monday.
Today, Monday, 4,133 new corona infections were reported within 24 hours. That is slightly more than on Mondays in the past two weeks. However, the seven-day average declines, coming in at 5,239 cases today, down from 5,719 a week ago. There were further declines among Covid 19 patients in hospitals. A total of 941 infected people are still being treated in hospitals, 83 of them in intensive care units.
Last Monday, 4,098 new infections were registered, down from 4,111 within 24 hours two weeks ago. Three weeks ago – on April 18 – there had been 6,227 new cases reported. Due to lower weekend testing numbers, Monday case numbers are always lower than the weekly average.
