The relevant ministries reported 3,777 new infections for Austria on Saturday, below the seven-day average (4,461). The seven-day incidence was 347.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Hospital numbers remained almost the same, with 807 patients, the same number as the previous day, 62 (down 3) in intensive care units.
Infection figures continue to decline.
As of Saturday, there were 59,855 active cases, down 2,408 from the previous day. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 4,209,157 confirmed cases. Recovered are 4,130,999 people, with 6,178 within the past 24 hours. There have been seven deaths since yesterday, making 18,303 people who have died from or with Covid-19.
In the past 24 hours, 89,926 tests were performed. Of those, 82,859 were meaningful PCR tests, with a positive rate of 4.6 percent. Five thousand nine hundred thirty-four vaccinations were completed on Friday. Six million forty-one thousand nine hundred ninety-four people, or 67.3 percent of Austrians, have proper vaccination protection.
