There were 2,909 new coronavirus infections reported in Austria on Tuesday. Across Austria, a total of 18,312 people have died from the coronavirus.
Two thousand nine hundred nine new corona infections were reported for Austria on Tuesday, the second consecutive day less than 3,000. Nine deaths were reported again after two days without covid 19 deaths. The number of Covid 19 patients in domestic hospitals continues to decline significantly. Currently, 740 people with corona infections are hospitalized, 58 in intensive care units.

The seven-day incidence on Tuesday was 315.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The province with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Vienna with 395.7, followed by Lower Austria with 377.5, Burgenland with 357.2 and Carinthia with 266.8, with Salzburg (266.6), Vorarlberg (265.2), Upper Austria (264.5), Styria (258.3) and Tyrol (255.2) following behind. Burgenland reported the fewest new infections on Tuesday with exactly 100, the most by Vienna with 793.
