Corona numbers in Austria are rising and rising. Instead of a summer break, there are 2,989 new infections on Sunday, a dramatic development.
Corona numbers continue to rise. Virus cases are blatantly taking off, despite significantly fewer tests. Already on Thursday, there was a sharp jump upwards. Five thousand one hundred forty-four positive findings were registered, almost twice as many as in the previous week. On Friday, the trend continued. Four thousand two hundred seventy-one positive results were documented. A week earlier, it was “only” 3,211 new infections.
This increase continues over the weekend. On Saturday, authorities report 4,107 Corona infections and four deaths in the latest 24 hours, up from 2,621 new infections Austria-wide and four deaths a week earlier. On Sunday of the previous week, June 5, 2022, there were still 2,416 new infections Austria-wide and one death.
