7,281 new corona infections and six deaths reported Tuesday

Vienna – Health authorities reported a further increase in new Corona infections across Austria on Tuesday. A total of 7,281 new infections and seven deaths were recorded in connection with the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. Seven-day incidence rose to 478, with the highest incidence continuing to be reported in Vienna at 759.2. Lower Austria follows it with 561.4 and Vorarlberg with 491. A total of 41 people with the disease are currently in intensive care units.

As of Tuesday, 64,765 cases were active, up 3,421 from Monday. There have been 4,341,493 confirmed cases in Austria since the pandemic began.

New infections in the provinces since the last report:
Burgenland: 189

Lower Austria: 1,553

Upper Austria: 740

Salzburg: 445

Styria: 574

Tyrol: 660

Vorarlberg: 589
