Nine deaths associated with Covid 19 infection have been reported.
As of Thursday, 116,641 laboratory-confirmed active cases were known in Austria. Since the start of the pandemic, 4,499,646 cases have been registered in Austria. Four million three hundred sixty-four thousand one hundred eighty infected persons have since recovered.
From Wednesday to Thursday, 11,971 new infections were registered in Austria. This is above the 7-day average of 10,170 infections. The 7-day incidence is 799.76.
In the past 24 hours, 61,350 new PCR tests have been made. This results in a positive rate of 19.51 percent. In other words, nearly one in five tests was positive.
In addition, there have been nine new deaths related to covid infection. This means 18,825 people across Austria have died from or with a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
There are currently 1,024 covid patients in Austria hospitals. Sixty-three critically ill patients are being cared for in intensive care units.
