From Tuesday to Wednesday, 15,149 new infections were registered in Austria. This is well above the 7-day average of 10,648 infections. The 7-day incidence increases slightly to 837.37.
This brings the number of active Corona cases to 118,711. Ninety-six thousand two hundred fifty-nine new PCR tests were made in the past 24 hours. This results in a positive rate of 15.74 percent.
In addition, there are nine new deaths. This means that 18,909 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died across Austria.
In the hospital, 1,151 people are currently being treated, 28 more than the previous day. In the intensive care unit, 66 patients are currently being treated, ten more than on Tuesday.
