From Wednesday to Thursday, 14,070 new infections were registered in Austria. The number is well above the 7-day average of 11,915 infections. The 7-day incidence increases slightly to 937.0.
This brings the number of active Corona cases to 128,675. Eighty-three thousand six hundred thirty-five new PCR tests were made in the past 24 hours. This results in a positive rate of 16.82 percent.
There are also 16 new deaths. This means that 18,987 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died across Austria.
The hospital currently treats 1,470 patients, 34 fewer than the previous day. In the intensive care unit, 80 people are being treated, four more than on Wednesday.
Vaccinations
Vaccination continues to be a marginal issue. A total of 3,516 vaccinations were administered Wednesday. Of those, 134 were first shots, 1,698 were second shots, and 3,046 were third shots.
