On Friday, Austria reported six thousand two hundred seventy-one new Corona infections. Currently, 1,461 people are hospitalized with Corona disease.
The number of patients hospitalized with a Corona infection continues to fall. On Friday, this was 1,461 people, which is 60 less than the day before. Deaths have been registered twelve since Thursday. At the same time, there were 6,271 new infections, 435 fewer than the previous day and nearly 1,300 fewer than last Friday. The number of intensive care patients is also decreasing, with 73 critically ill patients currently being cared for.
The 6,271 new infections are below the weekly average of 6,371 positive daily tests. The seven-day incidence per 100,000 population was 494 cases. As of Friday, there were 88,574 active cases, down 1,707 from the previous day. In the past seven days, 97 deaths have been reported, or 14 per day. So far, there have been 4,776,787 positive test results in Austria. Since the pandemic began, 19,177 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died, and 4,669,036 have recovered, according to Interior and Health Ministry figures.
