In the last 24 hours, Austria had a total of 5,475 new coronavirus infections. Vienna again reported the most cases on Saturday.
On Saturday, 1,188 people infected with the coronavirus were treated as inpatients in Austrian hospitals. Of these, 64 required intensive medical care. The hospital numbers thus continue to decline. The number of covid patients decreased by 25 within one day, and the number of severe cases in intensive care units fell by eight within one week.
Daily Corona infections, on the other hand, were 5,475 on Saturday, above the average for the previous seven days (5,246). The seven-day incidence was 406.8 cases per 100,000 population. As of Saturday, there were 71,469 active cases in Austria, down 985 from the previous day.
