Because of inflation, starting school is a substantial financial burden for many families in Austria.
Vouchers for school supplies at the start of school
The “Schulstartklar!” campaign helps these families. Households on minimum income, social welfare, or social assistance will receive a letter with which they can pick up vouchers for school supplies worth 80 euros at the Volkshilfe, Caritas and Kinderfreunde pickup points until September 23.
These vouchers can be redeemed at Libro and Pagro Discounters throughout Austria until October 1.

“Schulstart Plus” helps with an additional 40 euros
In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs is running the “Schulstart Plus” campaign, which provides eligible children with vouchers from the Sodexo company worth 40 euros. These vouchers can be redeemed until the end of the year for school supplies, food, clothing, and other everyday necessities.
