In a recent American study, researchers have discovered why many omicron infections go unnoticed.
According to a new study, most people infected with Omicron probably didn’t know that they had the virus as it is mainly asymptomatic.
Most people infected with Omicron, a variant of SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19, probably didn’t know that they had the virus, according to a study from Cedars-Sinai investigators. The findings have been published in JAMA Network Open.
Corona sub-variant BA.5 is spreading rapidly around the world. According to scientists, one reason could be that this variant often goes unnoticed.
Two thousand four hundred seventy-nine people participated in the study, 210 of whom had contracted the omicron variant. More than half of these people did not know they had been infected. Ninety percent did not notice any corona symptoms at all.
Scientists advise people to get tested more often.
