In the last 24 hours, Austria had 4,247 new Corona infections. Most cases of this were reported in Vienna on Tuesday, with more than 1,400.
Thirteen people have died in connection with Covid-19 within 24 hours. New infections Tuesday totaled 4,247 cases, slightly higher than the average for the last few days before school started in eastern Austria. The total number of active confirmed infections decreased by 2,818 compared to Monday, the Interior and Health Ministries reported. The number of hospital patients with corona also reduced slightly to 939.

Four thousand two hundred forty-seven new infections exceeded the seven-day average of 4,063, and the seven-day incidence is now 315 cases per 100,000 population. These infections were detected using 133,696 PCR and rapid antigen tests, of which 101,873 were PCR tests. Overall, testing was slightly higher than the recent vacation average for the East of 94,703 tests daily. All told, we now stand at 252,546,987 Corona tests performed. The positive rate for PCR was 4.2 percent, below last week’s average of 5.1 percent.
