Not only since Corona has there been a desperate search for personnel in the healthcare sector. Especially in nursing, the training and working conditions are tough, and the general appreciation is low. And this is even though the population is getting older, and there are more and more people in need of care. In the next few years, there will be a shortage of up to 100,000 workers in this field.
To counteract this, the federal and state governments have identified the critical points for implementing the care reform. For example, the salary bonus for all employees, regardless of the occupational group (from home help to certified nurses), is to be paid out in the same amount this year.
There will also be no differences between the provinces. The 570 million euros budgeted by the federal government will be invested for this purpose.
The bonus amount is still being discussed with the unions and employers. However, it will undoubtedly be a “low four-digit amount,” paid out in December.
