On Sunday, 2,999 new Corona infections were reported by AGES. This is below the average for the previous seven days, when 3,816 cases were added daily.
The seven-day incidence thus dropped to 295.9 cases per 100,000 population. There are 39,524 laboratory-confirmed corona-active cases in Austria, up 316 from the previous day.
5,517,893 confirmed corona cases in Austria since the start of the pandemic
Since the pandemic began, there have already been 5,517,893 confirmed corona cases in Austria. In the past seven days, 37 deaths have been registered. The Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 21,144 lives in Austria since the outbreak. Per 100,000 population, 234.2 infected persons have already died.
918 Corona-infected are currently in hospital
As of Sunday morning, 918 people infected with Corona are in hospital, five fewer than were reported yesterday. Within a week, there was a decrease of 112 patients here. Seventy-six people are being cared for with Corona in intensive care units.
134,591 Corona tests logged in on Saturday
A total of 134,591 PCR and Corona antigen rapid tests were reported on Saturday. Of those, 93,135 were meaningful PCR tests, and the positive rate was 4.6 percent. On average, 80,606 PCR analyses were performed daily last week, with 4.7 percent yielding positive results.
