The state generously reaches out to the population in times of inflation. Who can now count on further payments?
Most recently, Parliament paved the way for another monetary bonus. As reported, the National Council paved the way for adjustments to the salary bonus for caregivers with a resolution. Through the amendment of the Entgelterhöhungs-Zweckzuschussgesetz, the federal government will provide 2,460 euros per person for 2023 alone, according to the House. The federal government will provide 570 million euros for this purpose for 2022 and 2023.
In the new year, however, the bonus is to be paid out in a standardized manner in all federal states and taken into account as part of the salary. In concrete terms, this means that the monthly salary is to increase instead of a one-off bonus being paid out. At the same time, Rauch said that “we have certainly not reached the end of the nursing reform,” but have taken a first step.
There is also reason to rejoice for all those who came away empty-handed in the first round of payments for the climate and anti-inflation bonus. Because: Not all people living in Austria were considered for the climate and anti-inflation bonus in 2022. Partly because the requirements were not met, and partly for other reasons, for all those eligible who did not receive the bonus of 500 euros last fall, there is a double reason to rejoice this year. Because they will receive the back payment from last year in February and the regular bonus for 2023 in October.
The basic requirement for receiving the money is a main residence in Austria for at least 183 days, which corresponds to half a year. The second wave of payouts affects thousands of people living in Austria. But why have so many not received their bonus? The Ministry of Health told “Heute” that it depended on the data from the Ministry of the Interior. Then in March, with the pension bonus, the next subsidy is just around the corner.
The employee tax assessment is not a bonus in the classic sense. The document, better known as “tax equalization,” can bring in up to 500 euros – but only if you submit it manually. Although it is also processed automatically by the state, manual processing earns you significantly more on average.
