The Linz City weather station recorded minus 10.8 degrees on Monday. The last time it was colder on a December day was in 2012, with minus 10.9 degrees. In Eisenstadt, minus 7.6 degrees was measured on Monday; the last time it was colder on a December day was in 2014 with minus 9.5 degrees.

Snow possible
In the coming days, it may continue to snow a little, especially in the west and north of Austria. It may also rain at low altitudes. Occasionally, black ice is possible due to freezing rain. According to the experts’ forecast, temperatures on Tuesday will be between minus nine and minus one degree in the morning and between minus three and five degrees in the afternoon.
It may snow a little everywhere on Wednesday. Rain or freezing rain is also possible at low altitudes. In the morning, temperatures will mostly be between minus six and one degree, and in the afternoon, between minus one and five degrees.
On Thursday, it will be a little colder in most of Austria, but also quite sunny. Clouds are likely to predominate in the east, bringing some snowfall and rain below about 300 meters.
