Sunny. On Sunday, the thermometer climbed up to 17 degrees in bright sunshine in parts of the country. The reason for this is a foehn storm responsible for the mild temperatures. According to meteorologists from Geosphere Austria, it is expected to reach up to 17 degrees again on Monday. But then comes the big chill.
Cooling and rain until the weekend
Low-pressure influence. While the start of the working week will be spring-like, a weak low-pressure influence will bring thicker clouds and scattered rain showers. Snow showers can even be expected up to an altitude of 1,500 meters.
Cooling down. On Wednesday, it’s time to dress warmly again! The snow line will drop to 1,000 meters, while temperatures around 10 degrees can be expected in the east. By the weekend, most of the country will see one, hopefully last, wintry spell. However, daytime highs will continue to fall on Thursday (7 degrees) and Friday (6 degrees) as the rain and snow slowly subside. Just in time for the weekend, the sun should prevail and bring temperatures up to 15 degrees.
