Drivers need to take action now to apply for an extension of their parking sticker in good time. Large suburbs are particularly affected.
Vienna is a short-term parking zone. Only those who have applied for a parking permit can park their cars on the streets for longer. A total of 402,000 Viennese are in possession of a parking sticker, which is valid for a minimum of four months and a maximum of two years.
A large number of renewals are due in February. 50,000 parking stickers expire and have to be applied for again. Anyone who fails to do so and continues to park in the short-term parking zones risks heavy fines.
The large districts 13, 21, 22 and 23 are particularly affected, so the district offices are asking all those needing a new parking sticker from March 2025 to apply for one in good time. The application can be made in person at the district office responsible for your main place of residence or online.
You can find more information about the parking sticker and the possibility of applying online at www.wien.gv.at/amtshelfer. Or you have a “Stadt Wien” account, go to: mein.wien.gv.at/Meine-Amtswege.
If you are unsure how long your parking permit is valid for, you can check this yourself at any time: Easy to find via Google search: “Parkpickerl Gültigkeit überprüfen” or “Amtswege Stadt Wien Parkpickerl Gültigkeit”: mein.wien.gv.at/parken/gueltigkeitsabfrage.
